Opera 10.50 goes final!

For those who don't already know, the windows version of Opera 10.50 has reached release status today after a flurry of release candidates. Opera 10.50 brings with it a new javascript engine (carakan) a new graphics engine (vega) and a lot of speed. Apart from being really fast vega also supports a number of new and juicy CSS3 effects, like rounded corners. Opera 10.50 also has the much requested option for private tabs (a.k.a. stealth or porn mode), many dialogs are now non-modal, which means they no longer interfere with your ability to switch from tab to tab.

New User CSS category

As suggested on the my.opera forum a category has been added to the CSS section of this website. Stylesheets that are meant to modify this site can now be marked as such. If you have your own take on what this site should look like, share it with us. The first contribution to this category has already been made here. If you like it, let the author know by leaving your vote.

A new look (and some downtime)

As I'd announced before the site went down for the count. The site has received a make-over, in honour of the upcoming release of Opera 10.50 (Windows version is currently in Beta). Opera 10.50 promises to be a major release, featuring, among other things, a new version of Presto (2.5) a new graphics engine, Vega and a new Javascript engine, Carakan. The interface is also receiving some tender love and care. So, to celebrate all that, i give you extendopera.org, 2.0

New content types, buttons and more

There are now three new content types on the site. Buttons, bookmarklets and macros will now also have a home here. Since there are already excellent button creation tools available I won't be providing one here.  If you want to create your own buttons you can, for example, use this tool by Scipio. If you want to share your creations here simply put the button link in your post.  The new content types do not require attachments so you will not have to upload anything.

UJS Manager becomes application of the day

Rafal's (aka d.i.z.) excellent unite application UJS manager has been named application of the day on the my.opera page. This application can install scripts for you at the click of a button, disable scripts when you don't need them and, when correctly configured, even allows you to edit parameters within the scripts. All in all it is a highly recommended application for anyone who uses User Javascript files.

Congratulations Rafal!

Opera 10.1 is out!

For those few of you who have not yet noticed, there is a new final version of Opera, 10.1. This is the first final version that includes support for Unite applications. The full changelogs can be found here.

Small update

A little update to the site. As requested, authors will now receive an e-mail whenever someone comments on their posts. Let me know if there's any trouble with this.

I've also changed the default address from www.extendopera.org to plain, extendopera.org. No need for those w's.

EDIT: tweaked the RSS feed, should be working properly now.

Welcome!

Welcome, to extendopera.org. A new site for sharing and finding files for enhancing your browser. Whether you have a user JS file you think the world cannot do without or want to share your shortcut settings with the rest of Opera's users, you can upload them here. It's a new site so there might be some issues. For starters, we're quite short on moderators so your submissions may not be approved as soon as I'd like. Whether you intend to contribute or just browse, enjoy!
